Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early twentieth century. We have both online and classes running in the clinic. Our online classes are brought to you through our Pilates@Home on demand course.
Pilates primarily focuses on strengthening the core muscles, while developing flexibility and control of in the limbs. Pilates has been shown to reducing the risk of injures, and is highly effective treatment for back and neck pain.
Four classes per week including:
1. Level 1 - a 30 minutes mat class, with minimal equipment. Similar to Wednesday class but double the length
2. Level 2 - a 30 minutes mat class, with minimal equipment. Similar to Monday and Thursday's class
3. Equipment Class - a 30 minute class based on Pilates equipment such as resistant bands, foam rollers and Pilates balls. The aim of these classes will be to improve control, balance and coordination of the core and hip muscles.
4. Express Class - a 15 minute mat class focus on a short sharp workout. It can be used as a 2nd or 3rd workout of the week, or you can do this class when your short on time. No excuses to skip a class!
The course has a series of classes aimed at improving the fundemental techniques. These classes will be shorter and slower and aimed at perfecting the imprint, chin tuck, shoulder depression, isolating the glutes and drawing down the ribs.
You will have access to our members area on our website where you can log in and see all the videos, including all our previous workouts.
Finally, you can download an app for your phone so that you can access the video on your phone, computer or stream them to your TV.
